This is the blog for two collaborative projects between students from the University of Michigan and the National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) based in Trivandrum, India, begun in 2015.
The first project involves implementation of a new library system as well as the formalization of library collection and management procedures. The second involves the development of a resource that assists people with disabilities in becoming more involved in sporting events and activities by aggregating accessibility information into a single resource.
These are projects under the umbrella of the Global Information Engagement Project (GIEP) at the University of Michigan’s School of Information. This program allows University of Michigan students to work on information problems in partnership with organizations in India.
